Hi Everyone,

Dropping off the family at LHR today and will be trying some photography after that (PM). Checked a few websites, can someone advise where to go to shoot 27R, which will be the landing pattern after 1500. And how to get there....bus?

Thanks!

Andrew

Hello Andy. I think most, if not all the buses are free around the perimeter; it's been a while since I used them. You're after touch down shots I presume so you need to be around near the Renaissance hotel, close to the fence. You'll see there's a part of the fence that angles nicely inwards making photography easier around there somewhere, providing the (planned) double fence hasn't been erected yet; again, it's been a while since I was there. But I think you'll be alright for now.
Spence.

Late afternoon is best. Google the buses as I'm mobile right now.

Long time since I've been there, but I used to walk it from Hatton Cross. Don't think that our American cousins are too keen on walking however! just jokin!'.

You'll have to walk around BA mx though as the road you may have used last time is off limits now. Hope this helps for the buses too Andy...

Hey Andrew,

I recently discovered a great site which may be very useful for your next LHR visit.

It helped me finally find that great "Spot C" where most people capture those amazing 9R departures. (Click: "Airport Spotting Guides" via "Home")
