United A320 Registration Help

Hello All,

I caught this United A320 at Dulles a few weeks back. I cannot for the life of me figure out the reg for this jet. The nosewheel door is marked 4267. I've been beating my head against the wall trying to find something in the DB to no avail. Can anybody save me?

Amusingly enough, I was just looking for the reg of a UA A320 last night that I had shot a few days ago. All I could make out was the 4108 on the nosegear door.

Turns out that seems to be a common thread among UA aircraft - delete the 2nd number (the "2" in 4267 or the "1" in 4108) and you get the three numbers that go between "N" and "UA".

So the one I shot was N408UA. I won't say that rule applies to ALL UA aircraft, as I have no idea.

(I'm sure many other people already knew that, but hey, it was a useful discovery   )

Thank you Gabe. That was the only jet I'd found that seemed like a possibility, but I found it odd that you'd drop a number in the middle the number I was seeing on the gear door, and on the rear fuselage. What happened to United's keeping the reg rather large right there on the rear fuselage

Yeah , but from United's ship # you can guess the tail number. Try to do the same from American Airlines ship #...

United changes their fleet numbers when something about that aircraft changes (IE, seating configuration, winglets etc)...

Courtesy of United1 in a recent United/Continental thread:

40xx - A319 - F8Y112
42xx - A320 - F12Y132 Former Ted
41xx - A320 - F12Y132 Former Ted Overwater
46xx - A320 - F12Y126
47xx - A320 - F12Y126 Overwater

So your aircraft, #4267, is a former Ted aircraft and is registered as N467UA as others have correctly said above.
