Hi all,

This will be of interest to all the Nikon users who might have missed it. NR is reporting that we are going to see Nikon price increases in the US very shortly:

Nikon will not actually increase their prices as such, they are just going to enforce their Minimum Advertised Prices (MAP) to avoid some retailers undercutting others. However, Nikon are also going to extend their next rebate program to also include more high end equipment too:

There will soon be a shortage of DX bodies, due to closure of the Nikon Thailand factory by flooding. This will certainly lead to price increases on existing stock.

Nikon D700, Nikkor 80-400, Fuji X Pro 1, Fujinon 35 f/1.4, Fujinon 18 f/2

They can do that in the USA??

That is seriously against the law in Australia (and AFAIK in many other countries)

All part of contract. I'm no expert but I'm willing to bet that there's a clause in there from Nikon to retailers to allow this.

I am sure there is but they would not be allowed to do that in Australia.
