The thread shows photos of the Gotland Railroad cossing the Runway at Visby (IATA: VBY, ICAO: ESSV)) Airport. The train driver had a phone so he could call the control tower before passage.
This airfield is also a dual civilian military field and the closest airfield in Sweden to the Soviet Union.
The railroad was decomissioned in 1960 and is/was three swedish feet wide.
Found this in a thread that they linked too as well from another airbase at Söderhamn [IATA: SOO) . It's slightly absurd to see a steam train pass in front of a A32A Lansen strike fighter at what is clearly a runway. http://www.jvmv2.se/forum/index.php?id=65756
