While i hope we dont get to see such sights again, these truely will remain unforgettable.
For me though, Technically as well as in Terms of High-Visual-Impact this photo takes the cake:

Too many to post and Flo beat me on Mikko's shot, so I'll go with this one:

I have selected my top 5 for this year on quality, execution and event basis.
Shown in Random order:
Clearly Kavin's shot of the A330 wingview and milkyway is one of the most impressive shots I've seen this year. So that one is on my list surely.

This beautiful Finnair departure during sunset is on my list.

I love the air to air shots taken at LAX, there has been a huge ammount of them this year. Sam is doing a splendid job. I always love to see my home countries airline in foreign places. So I selected this one as another top of this year.

Also this shot is very impressive with beautiful composition.

I'll go for these 4 as my top 4
The list could go on and on really, there are hundreds of great shots that hardly get a hit, the depth is stunning [Edited 2011-12-27 09:28:01]

Very hard to pick just a couple! I have to say Kavin's shot did indeed blow me away, both in terms of subject as well as execution. And as I'm a light trails fan I also loved Dennis' shot too.
On the artistic / creative front, I have to pick Tim's shot:

Let's hope for even better next year! Happy shooting everyone!
