Shortly after 5:00 pm on Jan 37, this aircraft clipped trees on takeoff from a country airfield in Victoria and crashed. It burst into flames , starting a small grass fire. The pilot and passenger tragically perished. The pilot had flown the aircraft from England to Australia a couple of years ago.

This is mine. Crash during a VFR flight, near Val Bormida in Italy, possibly in IMC according to investigators. Unfortunately, 3 people lost in this accident, among them a friend of mine and his wife.

Sadly this aircraft was lost along with the pilot (he is flying it in this picture) and a second passenger on 17July 2010 at PWM. The aircraft crashed just after takeoff onto a street in South Portland.
-> Both Tarom 707's crashlanded. One undershot, the other overshot the runway. Luckily no fatalities, but you don't often have 2 unfortunate planes in one shot.
-> Was shot on approach to Mogadishu, 2007. Landed safely but DBR. Unfortunately, the plane that was sent to salvage usefull parts (EW-78849) also was shot, this one on take off. It crashed, 11 fatalities.
-> Crashed after an aborted take off at JFK, 1991. My shot was made in Brussels, which also was the destination of it's final take off roll. Fortunately, no fatalities. But credits to Joe Pries for documenting the crash at JFK
On January 22, 2011, about 1357 Pacific standard time, N142HF sustained substantial damage when it nosed over during landing on Lake Goodwin near Stanwood, Washington.

Gosh, compared to some of you folks I'm a beacon of good luck (sarcasm)... probably because the amount of shots I have in the database isn't huge. I did take a photo of the Asiana cargo 747 that crashed into the sea (HL7604? I forget) but it isn't' in this site's database. It's always kind of a weird thing to think about for me, that what you photographed doesn't physically exist anymore, or at least has been substantially changed.
