PS Elements 10 - Decent Enough?

Hi all,

My geriatric version of Photoshop has died, and I'm thinking of purchasing PS Elements 10. Last time I tried Elements it could not do curves, and I think that was what made it unacceptable to me. However I understand the new versions have a Curves tool, is that correct? I understand that Nikon RAW (NEF) files are also supported?

What would you suggest are the main things I will be missing if I settle for Elements 10 rather than CS5?

Thanks,

Peter

I'm used to CS5 and I wouldn't choose anything else just because it has so many possibilities whereas Elements is well more basic. Both software pieces can read RAW files but you have to download a little update for it via the adobe website.

Thanks.

Well, like I said, I'm used to a very old version and even then I didn't use a quarter of the possibilities I guess. I do use curves however, and personalized amounts of sharpening on selected areas rather than smart sharpening buttons.
