Hi guys,

was just browsing on Ryan International Airlines and checked out the photo gallery:

http://www.flyryan.com/slideshow.html

They use pictures from a.net and other websites. The copyright bar at the bottom is still visible.

I saw a picture from JE89 W. and Royal S. King and others.

Maybe you guys want to check it out, no clue if they have permission or not.

Aren't you entitled to use an image if it's of your own property?

From the terms of use:

http://www.airliners.net/usephotos/

Quote:
You may not use these photos on any web page, commercial or non-commercial, for profit or non-profit, without written permission from the photographer.

and:

Would you like to link to our photos from your web page?
If you have a web page (personal or company) and would like to link to certain photos on Airliners.net, you do not have to ask for permission as long as you use the code as described below.

They didn't use that code. So it is not 100% correct how they did it.

Great that you noticed it. But isn't it better that you contact the photographers personally than starting a thread?

If there is no permission from the photographers: No discussion! The photographers should state accounts to Ryan International Airlines immediately...
More and more companies use pictures from the web without proper permission. I had that case, too. I sent a bill and they had to pay!

I think this is a good way to let other photographers know about this problem. This reminds us all to keep the eyes open while browsing the net!

I thought about it, but:

That was my thought as well. It happens so often that people simply use the pictures without permission and think it is ok while it is not. So keep an open eye for it, as well on facebook!

True, I haven't photographed airplanes so long and I have already had one picture taken. Just that the title doesn't really match what you say there. Maybe a single thread for "stealing" is to recommend then?

No. For the reasons said above it is better to have a thread.
