Num. Of Uploads Being Screened At A Time

Under the upload queue overview where it says "this many photos currently in screening" the quantity seems a bit less than it used to be. Does this reflect at all upon the overall speed of the upload queue? Is it a temporary or permanent state of affairs?

It just means fewer images are sitting in the HQ queue, and has no relation to the total number of images screened in a day. It fluctuates from day to day and even hour to hour.
