On a recent trip to YVR I was hoping to get some night-time skyline pictures. Unfortunately I couldn't seem to find a decent location to take a shot from (Stanley Park was too far away) and came up empty-handed.
I figured I would start a thread where we can all chime in with our suggestions on where to take skyline shots in various cities - hopefully one of us will find it useful.
I'll start with two obvious ones:
Tokyo: Roppongi Hills Mori Tower (requires admission - ¥1,800)
Hong Kong: The Peak (requires admission - HK$56)

There are several locations to get excellent skylines of New York City and Philadelphia that have been photographed extensively, but since this is an aviation website, Hog Island Rd near PHL, College Point for LGA and the Bayswater location by JFK are excellent locations to get the skyline as the backdrop with aircraft in the foreground

Not much in the way of a skyline here in Kearney, Nebraska. Some good places to see the lay of the land would be the Gottshalk tower at Yanney park. The parking lot at Dairy Queen north is not too bad, and on 8th avenue just south of Memorial Field has a good view of the area as well.

A huge number of my favourite shots here are from Boston, it just has an incredible skyline combined with a close International airport, I wish I could go back now and do some shooting but I wasn't that into it when I last visited

In San Diego, CA, the "island" across the San Diego Bay Bridge, Coronado, has a long walkway directly across from the SD city where good shots of airplanes going into SAN with the city in the frame are possible. Also, at Balboa Park, which is noto to far from the city, there is a bridge, the name I do not know, that you can get pictures of airliners flying into SAN with the city in the frame.
