I have been approached by a business that would like to purchase one of my photos to be displayed in the hallway of their business. The business is an aircraft repair facility. It would be a small print not exceeding 24" wide. Advice for charging, or agreements? This is my first time being approached for one of my photos...just want to make sure I do it right.

Here's what I do. See if you can find out what other photographers in your area charge for prints. Local photographers in my area will sell a un-framed, un-matted 16x24 print for anywhere between $100 and $200.
If the company wants to print it themselves, then subtract a bit because you don't have to pay printing and shipping costs. However, if you are sending them a digital copy, make it absolutely clear to them that it is only for printing this one photo, and if they ever want it for anything else they have to contact you again first and work out another agreement.

Hmm, I sold a photo to a private jet operator in Germany (file only,printing and mounting done his end) at a similar size for around $50. Despite this, I personally still would have said $100-$200 would be asking too much.

Interesting timing...I was just approached by Air & Cosmos re: one (of my only two) images here for an article. They offered a sum in their first email, and I was told I would be paid once the image is published.
