Anyone still spotting at SLC? I know there used to be a group that frequented the airport a few years back. But there hasn't been much, if anything on a.net recently. I've been up a few times in the past month and a half and haven't seen anyone out taking pictures or even observing with no camera. Where's my SLC spotters at?

They retired and moved south to Provo for the winter. Only kidding of course. I've wanted to spot SLC but never got up there. I did a lot of PVU but moved out of state a few months ago. I have a friend who used to spot SLC. I'll rattle his cage and send him up there, since I too would like to see more photos from there.

Ah that's a shame. It's really not that bad of a place to spot. If and only if you have patience to wait through all the Skywest RJs   But thanks man that would be nice of you. I'd love to see some more photos out of SLC for sure, seeing as I still haven't had any accepted YET.

I do still spot SLC when I get a chance. I haven't uploaded to A-Net for a while from anywhere, but that will change here shortly. Traffic is kinda boring with the RJ'S and Delta, but hey it's planes!

SLC used to be a "destination" spotting location, such a shame they ripped out the viewing park.

Still, it has one of my favorite views of anywhere I've been:

That's good to know I'm not the only one. Yeah, I completely agree, traffic isn't the best at all. Patience, and maybe some luck, is definitely something you need an abundance of.

I really wish I could have been around here before they removed it because it's a really nice spotting environment. I like spending time there even now, with strict security and all.

I used to shoot at SLC all the time. The spotters park was great. Even thought I live 20 minutes away I don't shoot much there anymore.

Last year during the Christmas season FedEx brought in a 757 that I would have liked to see. I have noticed a FedEx MD-11 on flight tracker leaving SLC a couple times this year already.

Ah that's a shame.

I was actually there two days ago and there was a FedEx 757 on the cargo ramp! Along with an A300 and MD-11. Busiest I've ever seen the FedEx area. I couldn't get any pictures of it besides the tail because it was behind the two other aircraft. But it was definitely nice seeing it there. I regularly see an MD-11 there now, too. I always get excited to see something besides CRJ's or SW 737s.
