Curious that two photos of the same plane taken at the same time are uploaded into the database (Newest Aeroflot 777). They look very similar but from two different photographers. Does "doubles" rejection apply to only one photographer submitting similar pictures, or can two guys submit nearly the same picture they took standing next to one another?

Yes. We will consider as many images from different photographers as are submitted. The double rule applies only to an individual photographer submitting similar images.
