Hello all,

Are there users here from the new Canon EF 300 2.8 II prime? I have planned to rent one in the coming future to try him with the coming Airshow season.

What are your experiences with him for aviation photography?

I only have the previous model (not the II). This is the best lens I have, making crystal sharp images. Model II is even better according to reviews due to special new lens treatments. In addition, the stabilizer is even more performant than on the previous model.

In airshows, it might be too big for large aircraft if you are close to the taxiway/runway. Its' perfect at average distances or close-ups and too small for military or small aircraft during display, except if they pass closer to you.
