Let me first mention that I used the search function, but have not found what I was looking for.
I am in the process of planning my next vacation trips and it will include IST, one or two centre European cities and also one Scandinavian city. And there is the problem. Which one?
Perhaps you fellow photographers could give me some impressions and advices on which Scandinavian city (and airports) has the best options for spotting (photo points, traffic, etc). I am interested in both regional/domestic traffic mainly as I guess the widebody hunting part of the trip will be done elsewhere. Having other sightseeing tips, besides spotting, might also be of interest (aviation/non-aviation museuns, rare planes, etc)
The trip will take place during June/13 and I longest lenses range goes from wide-angle to 400mm

As I live in Stockholm I recommend my hometown with the city airport Bromma 8 km west of the city and Arlanda 45 km north of the city. Bromma airport have a predominantly domestic traffic. Most airlines use turboprop.
Copenhagen and Oslo also have intersting traffic. Don't forget to vist Helsinki in Finland. Finland is one of the Nordic countries.

I guess I'd recommend Copenhagen. The airport is close to the city and easy to get around with a metro station right in the airport. A short walk from the terminal will get you about as close to the runway as possible and standing directly under the approach path with aircraft at just a few hundred feet above your head. And on a side note, the new aquarium next to the airport will be open by then and you're right next to 5km of great beach.

Hallo Renato. You didnt mention if you will be able to go by car or not. I've been at all the biggest airports in Scandinavia so I'd like to give you a few tips.
ARN is a very confusing airport in a spotter perspective, especailly if you're a first timer and have no car. ARN has three runways. Runway 19R/01L is impossible to get to without a car. I wouldnt recomend going by feet to runway 26/08 either, it is a few km, and even through you can take the local bus to get one km closer, it's still pretty distantly. After these exclusions, there's only runway 19L/01R left. The runway is not in use often, but when it is, you can get to a spotting terrace very easy and photograph taxi movements. Closer to the city is BMA, but you'll probably fall asleep in the intervals.
OSL is a rather easy going airport. It has only two runways which make the spotting much easier than at ARN. The problem that I faced the one and only time I've been at OSL is that both of the runways are in use at the same time, with depatures and landings at both, with the resultat of missing alot of traffic. There's very good spotting "hills" next to both runways, and you'll be able to capture good photos all day. I would not, however, recomend OSL under any circumstances unless you have a car.
The only major airport left is CPH. Even though the fact that I've been there several times, I've only been under the final approach for runway 22L. The reason is that it's simply the location at CPH where you'll recive the best images and also, 22L is the most common runway in use at CPH. This location is next to a small road, and the site is located under a km from the arrival/departure hall. There's also a free shuttle bus service to the terminal just infront of your eyes, if you cant walk the short walk . There is other spotting locations at CPH as Flyvergrillen and runway 30,12 and 04L approaches just to mention some of them. All of SAS MD-80 fleet is based at CPH, so you'll get to see many of them before they are long gone, in just one day. Both of the following photos are taken under the approach for runway 22L.

Many thanks for the detailed descriptions you gave for the three airports. If I decide to go to ARN, I will have a car available. It seems like a tricky airport, but, as far as could judge from the photos on the database quite interesting, traffic wise. BMA, albeit slow on traffic, offers some interesting mix of airlines not easily seen (well, at least not by me).
On the other hand CPH seemed very nice as well. I still have a couple of days to decide on that, considering I will be travelling only in June.

ARN has very nice and interesting traffic. A few Swedish regoinal airlines but also Asian, American and European airlines. DY will start their 787 traffic to BKK and JFK 31th of May, so look forward to that. According to roumours EK will start traffic at ARN in June. So June is the right month to visit our capital I guess! If you as you said, have a a car at ARN, I recomend it as much as CPH. I never been with car at ARN, but according to friends and db, it's fantastic.
