Performance of the Kit lens (E18-55mm F3.5-5.6 OSS) is not very good, then I set f8.0 or f9 to have well sharpened image in corners of frame.

Regards,

Hi Ivan,

Basically, I recommend ordinary DSLR type of camera to catch flying/landing/taxing air crafts for daily spotting, especially for ‘Skyshots’.
But as a secondary camera, NEX-7 would be big help for you, in cases of night shots with tripod, cabin shots, shots of window view, airport terminal shots and so on…I believe.
These sample images were taken with NEX-5. (not 5N/5R)

For video quality, it is also fine to me…but you better set f-number around f8 in use of the kit lens like still shots.
If you prefer big and smooth bokeh, you can choose lower f-number of course.

Regards,
