Hello guys. I will be in Houston next week. Is there any good place near HOU for plane spotting?

When the 787's were doing domestic runs for UA I had planned on popping down on a Dreamliner from ORD.

I found the following site very helpful:

Unfortunately with the subsequent grounding I did not end up taking the trip. Still very high on my wish list though!

Thanks guys, I will be there next week. If I get the time out of the schedule, I will definitely go and checkout those places.

Yes the Rankin Rd. area is now open. It has been a long time coming! Definitely the best views at IAH. Please respect the area by following the rules.

That is fantastic news. It must have been very recent because google maps' satellite view shows it fenced off down by the end. How do you shoot over the fence? Last time I had to stand on the pickup truck bed cover.

There is now a good size hill made from all the dirt that was excavated from all the construction projects at the airport over the years. For 15R takeoffs you really do not need to go to the top of the hill.
