Sadly our friend and Airliner.net photographer Michel Gilliand left us forever on July 10th.
I did not know him personally but had exchanged several mails with him in the last few years. He was one of the great Paris-ramp photographers and has posted here some great stuff – but this is only a small extract of his work, a real treasure for all classic airliner collectors.

Indeed a sad loss.
Producing scans of this quality from slides is not easy - Michel was a craftsman.
It makes me wonder how long before this becomes a lost art. Are there any 'youngsters' keeping the tradition going?
People can argue about the relative merits of film & digital, but one look at Michel's pics shows that slides (even after scanning) are 'different' to digital and result in images that cannot be directly reproduced with a DSLR.
