Hi,

I plan two weeks spotting trip;
Luxembourg - Brussels - Amsterdam - Dusseldorf - Hanover - Hamburg.

I have two questions to those, who are familiar with spotting in those countries;
Is there anything on the way worth visiting (aviation wise)? I found Woensdrecht for example, but may be there is something else.
I picked DUS and HAJ kind of "on the way between" Amsterdam and Hamburg (where I go for the Airbus factory tour). Are DUS and HAJ OK or would you suggest something else instead?

Thanks
Jarek

There is an excellent aviation section in the Military Museum in downtown Brussels.

Hi Jarek,

DUS is OK for spotting, it has nice outdoor terraces on top of the terminal and the railway station.
Woensdrecht is very quiet.
Are you only interested in airliners, or military, general aviation and old aircraft too?

Woensdrecht as you mentioned is interesting, but very limited for photography. Mondays and Fridays the military often charter a IL-76 (Aviacon Zitotrans) at Eindhoven.

Also, near Duesseldorf is Monchengladbach. There's a maintenance facility for ATRs there. I was last there early July and saw ATRs from American Eagle (3x), Air Dolomiti (3x), Royal Air Maroc Express (2x), Aer Lingus, Meridian Air, Olympic and even a private Azerbaijani ATR!

Monchengladbach seems to be nice tip.
I will look into Eindhoven also.

The airport of Rotterdam-The Hague (RTM() is often good for a couple of shots like this during a quick stop, a little better than Antwerpen (ANR) in my opinion.

You are like me I guess, I like to make multiple stops on my trips, but in all fairness you might just as well drive straight from BRU to AMS, which has of course good traffic and a few good photo spots.

At Seppe (EHSE), in between Woensdrecht and Breda, there is a flying museum with old light aircraft.

A larger museum including some airliners is Aviodrome at Lelystad (EHLE), though it's very family oriented and not all that great in my opinion.

I am from Hanover, so when do you plan being here?
Perhaps I could help you a bit with spotting around Hanover and let you know if there is something special going on here.
