A new 727 operator and a new scheme?

While these aircraft get a slot for simply having sports decals?

Has this simply been overlooked or is such an 'event' not significant enough to qualify?

Cheers,

Karl

While perhaps newsworthy, as a photo I would not rate it particularly highly. It is a "record shot" clearly taken in less than ideal conditions.

Since when did the quality of weather in an image determine whether it makes banner news? The subject is what's new and newsworthy, and I reckon most people would like a look at an active 727 on the British register in 2013!

Newsworthy aircraft don't always go out in glorious sunshine and do loop-the-loops for photographers!

Can someone confirm whether it's just been overlooked as the news system clearly isn't working as it should if something like this goes unnoticed?

Thanks,

Karl

Is it the photographer's responsibility to bring its newsworthiness to the staff's attention? Maybe that did not happen?

It went through priority screening so there would have been a hint; plus newsworthy images I've submitted in the past have always been added to the banner without prompt.

Seems a little unfair as this 727 would no doubt generate quite a lot of views. This example I dare say is the last active 727 in Europe.

I know that feeling Jak. I had the first F-35C photo in the DB a few months back and figured it might warrant something, but no.

In the end, I guess it doesn't really matter. The banner might generate a few more views I guess, but in the end it's the site's call.

Now been added to the banner, where it belongs. Hopefully just an oversight.

I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that it'd have been a great shame not to feature such a classic aircraft in such a bright scheme.

Cheers,

Karl

PHOTO SCREENER

It seems the screener who added the shot forgot to do a banner, no big deal, it happens, and has been fixed. I have also gone in and added a couple of new shots.

How is the particular shot that is added to the Banner selected? I ask because its interesting to note that the shot highlighted in this thread is not the one added..just curious as to the process.
