I've been receiving several e-mails from specially from Europeans interested in visiting Toluca airport.

Basic questions, is it safe in all aspects. Yes, spotting is allowed and if you write down registrations you won't have any problem at all. Is NOT safe, I repeat is NOT safe on the airport boundaries outside. I had a terrible incident back in 2011 and many friends still go but I prefer to stay safe and avoid being around unless I go with friends. And that has also been long time ago.

Well, today I came up with this bright idea that is possible to have good access and be very safe around and to have some nice days in my country. Of course, TLC is not any beach in Mexico but following this you'll have a great time. So spread the words to friends and people who might be interested coming to Mexico and Toluca.

We have a long traditional air show celebrated now every year, before it was every 2 years since 1997 which previously was done in ACA and since 2005 was moved to TLC. It ain't much about the show but the access you get which is really nice.

So, this is the information. Next year it will be held on March 6, 7 and 8th 2014. More info here on the official site:

In order to avoid transportation between Mexico City and Toluca which every day is worst with that traffic and it will be more expensive I you to fly to LAS or SAT and from there fly straight to TLC with Interjet.

www.interjet.com.mx

In the last 5 years many new hotels have opened near the airport and by near I say it's only 10 minutes away at the most.

I don't pay for entrance as it is free for people with Mexican active license for pilots, f/a's and mechanics but the rest of the people need to pay and entrance fee and is for every day. The fee IIRC this year was 8USD at the MOST so in total will be 25 USD for the 3 days. It's opened from 8am to 6pm on friday and saturday and sunday it's only from 8am to 4 o 5pm.

I'll post some pictures replying to this thread start as I can do it all in one.

If you want to see some more of TLC, go here:

http://www.airliners.net/search/phot...e17dc740a&sort_order=photo_id+desc

As for the traffic, TLC is still a nice plane for interesting thing to see. You have Interejet's Airbus 320 with 10 flights a day and maybe with more Sukhoi's deliveries this will be the chance to snap good pictures of that. Volaris has 2 flights a day. Aeromexico Connect is flying the Embraer 145/170/175 if lucky on friday maybe 190. AeroMar has an ATR42 operation. New Mexican start up TAR with Embraer 145 might show up.

You also have all bizjet traffic coming and going usually on friday after 2PM till noon if lucky you'll snap around 30 or 40 mexican bizjets. Saturday is a little slow and Sunday is very good too. You have some interesting cargo aircraft showing, for instance Fed Ex Dc10 daily flight but on the Mexican side you have Aeronaves TSM Dc9, Convair's and Metro's. Maybe if lucky you see Estafeta's Boeing 737's. And many more US operations, some of then with Convair's too.

I hope this guide helps. I don't know if I'll be able to make it, but I do I hope to see you around there. Spread the words!
