I don't like complaining like this (and haven't yet on here until now ), but I want to check to see if anyone else has had their photos literally stuck for over a week, closer to two! I have 8 photos waiting to be even reviewed by the screeners, with about 2,500 waiting to be processed before them.
Are these in Johan's pile? I would have received a first screening passing message however if they are in Johan's hands, right?

Yes, Serge, I too have had four waiting since January 19th. It seems like during that time the number of new photos added has been kind of sporadic: 200 one day, none another day, 35 yet another day, 150 on another, etc. Maybe there's just a little backlog right now, and they're doing the best they can with it. I'm not complaining either, just letting you know that you're not the only one.

NOT neccesarily. You only get a message from the screeners if at least one of yours is accepted or rej3ected by them. If all are passed over to Johan by the screeners, you DON't get a message.BTW This was explained in this forums about a dozen times or so

got the same problem - I have about 30 pics in the queue since about 3 weeks. what annoys me is that sometimes pictures get added which were only taken a couple of days ago and I wonder how they jump the queue - thats ok if it's really very new exciting stuff but if I only see a BA 747 that has been taken a couple of days before I start to wonder...
well - only my 5 cents

Yea, I'm not sure how things work anymore either. I just had a batch added as HQ after a 13 day wait in the queue. All the while shots taken within a day or two were uploaded before mine. Not complaining though - it's MUCH better than waiting two months!
What I suspect is that the screeners only have the option to "view newest additions" first. If you upload a batch that doens't get looked at in a couple days, you're SOL. But I could be way off...I honestly don't know.
Oh well...too early in the morning to be thinking about this stuff!

Nope. When we log in, we get what we get. No choice to view newest, oldest, by photographer, or anything else.
I think that 2 or 3 of my colleagues have been having some downtime, which has increased the amount of time taken for HQ pics to be added. Of course, the other possibility is that one or more screener(s) didn't think your pics were HQ, so they sat in the queue for a longer time before getting the necessary 3 votes to add to the database.

I should add that the whole site has been under quite a heavy load these last couple of weeks too, so Johan has asked us to try to only screen photos during off-peak hours. Much as I like looking at airplane photographs, the idea of getting up at 5am to screen them isn't *that* appealing, so perhaps there has been less screening going on for that reason too.
