Regarding your other shot, it's not bad in terms of sharpness etc. However, the problems are really twofold. Firstly, you can see that the aircraft is in shadow, even though the sun is shining in the bottom of the frame - which is not ideal. Secondly, the angle of the shot isn't great - 3/4 behind.

For the AA F100, I think the quality is there, but the problem is that you shot it in the shadows (like Chris mentioned above). It appears that the sun was at a GREAT angle at the time of the shot - I would have quickly moved away from that F100 and found something else that was lit by that beautiful early morning (or was it late afternoon?) sun.

maybe we'll run into each other at DFW sometime...i'll be down there for a week this summer....
