I finally got my Olympus B-300 1.7x teleconverter today. Can any of you DSC-F707 users out there give me on advice on the B-300, and what step ring to use? I haven't opened the box yet, but wanted to get this message to the forum. Any advice on the settings for the camera with this lens attached?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

the 707 is 58mm, right? Then get a 58-55 mm step-down ring. You shouldn't lose any stops. Settings can probably remain exactly the same.

Mine is on order.

Let us know how you get on with it.

For info on the B-300 have a look at the forum on this site: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1009

There have been some good reports on the B-300 so every thing should work O.K.

You will need a step up ring from 55mm to 58mm as 764er said.

My B300 is on its way to daddy  Smile/happy/getting dizzy I also ordered the 58-55mm step-down ring.

Another question: How about vignetting problem with the B300? The B300 has a smaller diameter. How does that influence the vignetting?

And, is auto focus possible with the B300?

Regards
Gerardo

I just go the lens yesterday and the step down ring today. With the lens on, you will see (when you first turn on the camera) the image in a "circle". When you zoom in thats when the vignetting goes away. You have to zoom to at least 70% to get rid of it. Have'nt taken any pictures yet - but I will let you know. I plan on doing some action shots tommorow afternoon!
