Hi,

At airpics.com, once a photo is uploaded, you can log into an account and view all of your uploaded shots, fix errors in them before screening, or upload a new scan without having to wait for a rejection, then a reupload. Would it be possible to add that here at airliners?

Here is a picture of the screen so you can get an idea of what I am saying. This is just after logging into an account:

Jeremy

PS- Airliners is still a much better site

Jeremy,

without your last sentence I would suggest your post for deletion. Big grin airpics.com basically takes everything they can get, so I don't use it.
I'm sure that Johan has already thought about something like this, but as you know he is very busy at the moment (new server), so I would consider this issue as minor important at the moment. Nevertheless, it would be a nice feature to be added to airliners.net.

Kind regards,

Yeah, Airpics.com is quite 'messy', the best site other than A.net is... lets just say Ingo  Smile.

I remember planespotting.net(?) had an interface like this also, it was quite helpful except the que at both these sites is not long enough to warrant it Big grin. I think it would be a good feature on A.net, especially with all this trouble with uploads since the screeners started being phased in.

Maybe a way to delete pics, too. Say you look back and realize a shot sucks... take one out of the queue and help speed things up.

Maybe if you removed one, you could also replace it with a different shot...

The idea is to look at your shots (200 times if needed) BEFORE you upload them to a.net.

Yes, Ingo's site is by far "the best of the rest" (apart from airliners.net).

Jeremy:
I don't think it would be a good idea to implement an easy way to delete pics from the database. It would result in people uploading a many pics as possible and then deleting almost all exept the most popular ones just to achieve a high average hit rate. Once uploaded to the database a pic should be kept forever unless there is a strong reason to remove it (e. g. copyright violation). Perhaps somebody is interested in exactly that pic.

I'm not saying delete from the DB, just the queue if someone goes back and decides a shot is of low quality, etc... then they can take it off and not have it screened.

If its in the DB, it is there to stay.

I've suggested a feature like this several times, first time about half a year ago.
Everytime people say it's usefull but nothing is ever done with it.

Jeremy,

sorry for misunderstanding you. Honestly, I don't think many people will delete a shot they have just uploaded. It is just the same as if you "screen" your shots yourself before uploading.
