VG-Airlines, Arrival First A330? Overal Status?

Hello Guys,

I read on the other forum that the arrival of the first VG-airlines aircraft was due for today. Does anyone know if it did arrive today or not, or any of the upcoming days?

It has been quiet lately about VG-airlines as well, I was wondering what their status is. When are they planning to receive their AOC, and consequently start operations? I think they first set the date of 1th of march for the start of their operations. Any new date?

Thx!!  Big thumbs up

Hey A320-addict,

Wasn't the arrival planned for the 13th (tomorrow)?

Staffan said that, he is going to be at the airport tomorrow to photograph it.

About VG: I doubt if they will get their AOC. How long is he already waiting? Much too long to be normal.

I spoke with someone who knows lots of it, and he said that he was in a big doubt if VG would make it or not.

Regards,
Sabena 690

This thread says the 13th so I'm gonna go up there tomorrow and hang around for a few hours and see if I'm lucky, but if it allready has arrived there's not much point in going since the weather is going to be rather crappy.

I was also going to be there tomorrow, but unfortunately, I noticed that I already have to go to the Port of Antwerp tomorrow morning, from 10 AM to?

This is probably going to last for a couple of hours, so I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make it to the airport. Maybe I'll drop by at 2PM or so.

Anyway, If anybody of you (Staffan for example) is going to be there tomorow afternoon, I'll be the guy driving the blue Ford with an angry Eric Cartman (South Park) looking through the back window  Smile/happy/getting dizzy if I make it of course...

Anyway, I hope some of you will be able to take some nice pictures

It's still listed on the swissair.com site

IV 001 CHATEAUROUX (CHR) 14:30 OO-SFQ

Some delay is possible as it's also the acceptance flight.

About the weather... looks like we'll get a nice grey fuselage, good contrast with the grey sky... Big grin

Hmmm, too bad. I probably won't be able to make it to the airport tomorrow. Luckily the plane didn't arrive today (I'm sorry for all the spotters that drove to the airport today, if any  Smile/happy/getting dizzy )

Don't think so. Redcap's real name is 'Pieter', the 'real' redcap's first name is 'Johan'.

By the way: Man, what an aweful weather today at BRU. The weather is cold, lots of wind blowing from the north (active runway RWY02?), and lots of rainshowers. They would have to offer me a huge amount of euros before I'd get outside to photograph the first VG Airlines. There are limits on the conditions in which I like to take pictures. This is almost suicidal  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I was at BRU between 13:30 and 16:00, sitting in the car on top of the parking deck. Takeoffs on 02 and 07R and landings on 02, so it was quite busy, got a few photographs, but no VG A330...

I got the second repainted SNBA Avro, but the weather was so crappy so I don't think it will turn out very well.

Staffan is right on this one: yesterday the weather was horrible, today it seems like spring is back in (well, except for the temperature). They should have postponed it by one day...

And, Staffan, I also feel sorry for you that you left the airport at the same time the aircraft was coming in. I would feel pretty bad, but hey, life goes on, and you'll probably get many other opportunities to shoot pictures of this aircraft during summer (I know I will  Smile/happy/getting dizzy )

And, of course, nice pictures. So at least a couple of guys didn't get 'scared' of the weather. Good job fellas!

Hi guys,

Thanks. The weather was really horrible. I waited for 2 hours on the hill along rwy 02. All the time it was raining. When i was soaked from head to toe, i decided to go back to the car... and then the A330 came in  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
Only the first pictures came out well... because of the rain drops on the lens... Big grin

@Mathias : see you soon in OST

I can tell you the link isn't corrupted, and works fine. You did a photoshoot. Must have been fun!

For those that would like to see the pictures opened in a different window: http://cards.webshots.com/cp-19726272-QYVG-album/33268339VWHnll

I can't wait to see one of the VG Airlines airbuses pass right over my head and take some nice pictures.
