Anyone photographng French a/c on rugby charters at Edinburgh this weekend? If so, I might see you there, at the "cargo" end of 24, assuming usual landing runway is in use.

Look for a guy with a greenish jacket and a Canon EOS5. Not sure what car (I have so many to choose from, you see!!)

Hi

Depending on the weather I may be visiting on Sunday.

Not 100% sure yet. If I am, look for me at Ingliston with a blue 'new style' Mini with a white roof. I will be poking a 500mm lens out the window  Smile

What is the forcast for Sunday anyway? Any locals have inside information?

Regards

Scotty: The "cargo" end of 24 has a new gate and it's locked this week. Usually it is open, but it's now closed and it seems it may stay that way. (Referring to the Ambulance RVP area, which was popular 2 years ago for this event). Ingliston seems to be the meeting place this year.

Weather forecast is either rain or broken cloud with some sun on Sunday, depending on what weather source you are looking at. Not too good.

So, the Edinburgh anti-spotter rapid response hit team strike again. When will they realise that we're not the enemy??

2 years ago, there was a big turn out at the RVP area but I dont think there was ever any danger that we were actually going to tear down the fence and lie on the threshold as the Air France 747 was landing. The BAA security guys were totally hyper.

Paranoia or what

Ingliston it is.

I passed by EDI this today. There was a bigger crowd than usual at Ingliston for the arrival of the AF B747 and a handful of other charters. I couldn't help but notice the 'non-locals' with their step ladders leaning against the fence. That is taboo at EDI and will irk the Airport Security big-time if they want to crack down on us photographers again. I'll be keeping away from those guys, it can spoil the whole day. Friday afternoon is looking good if the clouds break up. Sunday's weather is still 50-50.

Yes, the weather was dull.
A good selection arrived today.
I packed in at 16:30 when the light dropped suddenly.
Most of the well kent faces where there too and we'll
all be back for a repeat performance on Sunday morning.

I do hope you get some decent pics to make up for the right hammering you'll get on the pitch.

Still aiming for the Champs Cup at GLA. The Gooners are out and the draw means a maximum of 1 English team. Bayer vs one of the 3 Spanish clubs would be my choice although Galatasery could bring some choice a/c further west than DUS for once...

Change GLA to PIK. Whoever get's the chance to grace the Hampden pitch, the droves will come in via PIK.

..er... rugby... what is that? If it's not football, who cares!

Thanks for the correction. I'd look prety silly hanging around GLA if they were landing over the 'dunes'.

Some would say I'd look silly at PIK too - but I'll be there if at all possible.

Also aiming to take in ABZ, INV, Leuchars on the same trip and possibly Wick just for the experience.

Gerry!!

I was there for an hour Fri lunchtime between the Exel departure and the Corsair 737 - did I use your ladder for the Liberte DC10?? If I did - many thanks.
If not, I was certainly standing close to you!

Three words you seldom see in a single post - weather, nice and Scotland.

My EDI pics also not great but essential if only for the record
