AIRLINERS.NET CREW SITE ADMIN
Hello all,
A new appeal system has now been implemented. When you get a rejection email from the screeners you have the ability to appeal the rejection. How to do that is explained in the screening email. Let me know if you experience any bugs or if there's anything that can be improved.
Furthermore, the old queue order has been restored. This means that you will keep your place in the upload queue even if you upload more photos. All photos you upload will be grouped together in the upload queue and get the same queue number as the first photo you uploaded.
Thanks,
Johan

Johan,
that's great! A good site administrator listens to what is said by the majority and that is exactly what you did. airliners.net has improved a lot during the last months, so, again, keep up the excellent work!
Regarding the appeal system: is there any limitation which prevents people from using this feature every time they receive a rejection?

Same here, good job Mr. Lundgren!!!!!!
Hope I will never have to try out the appeal button, but If it happens and I dedect any bug, I will let you know.
One question, that comes to my mind:
Don't you think this appeal button will be "tampered with" ?, means that someone gets a rejection message from the screener for a quite " shitty" shot and that person still thinks it is great, it will be forwarded to you for a final review......you could end up with 2000 + plus for review
Kind of difficult to explain, but I hope you know what I wanna say.

Johan,
Thank you so much for devoting much (if not all) of your life to this site...i think in the recent months and longer people have taken this wonderful resource site for granted, and they think that by speaking their harsh words and so forth that it should be the way THEY want it to be...but that's not how it should work - i mean, there are literally hundreds of thousands of people that visit here each day - thanks to Johan and is hard work...he could have this site any way he wants to, because when it comes down to it, it is HIS site and he can do what he wants with it...there is no fee for anything here so people who complain about the site not being what they want can just shut their cake holes...it's not fair to Johan (and the screener crew) to have to put up with all this bashing and so forth...it's not fair to you all and doesn't make the job any easier...a.net isn't all that photographers have to live for...you shouldn't take photos JUST to put on airliners.net, which i think that is the case with a lot of photogs nowadays...
furthermore Johan cannot please everyone...there's always someone who will not like anything that goes on here...just my measely two cents...
i personally am glad that the old order is restored - this makes it fair for everyone - on a first come first serve basis...and the appeal button is a good idea...

I fully agree to Jderden777's (Jonathan D.) words and I'd like to say thank you to Johan and his crew for all their work. Airliners.net is and hopefully will stay the best aviation website!
Now everybody wants to get a rejection e-mail.....just kidding!

That's great news and I can tell you it worked... I used it for one out of six rejected photos - I hope that's still a reasonable use! And when you check your stats then, this photo is added to the upload queue again - cool!

Yes, I've updated the photo stats page to display some more info. It will also work now if you do not have any photos in our main database.
Let me know if there's any problems.
I am very happy to hear that you like the new appeal feature! We'll try it our for a few weeks and if it's misused by some we'll have to limit the number of appeals some way.
Thanks,
Johan

I have to agree and say the changes to the stats page are very welcome - nice one Johan!
All we need now is some info on how an appeal affects our place in the queue...as it does seem to. Anything you can tell us about this Johan (you may recall I mailed you directly about this too)...?

Johan,
good job!
I personally preferred the other queue (set to the end when uploading new pics) and would definitely prefer an queue sorted by submission of every single pic and not by photographer. But I'm fine with the new (and old) solution, too.

Thank you Johan.
The new photo stat window is great, a lot of information for the photographer. Very good improvement.
Regards,
Pierre
25 Paulc: Have just tried the appeal system for some pictures - will wait and see what happens. The pictures concerned of aircraft which are not in the database
26 Skymonster: Very nice... The only problem with the new stats system is that it doesn't tell you how many photographs are in the queue, unless you've got some pict
27 Administrator: That feature has been added now Andy. / Johan
28 AviationIvi: WOW, the new photo stats page is pretty cool! Good job! Ivica
29 Skymonster: Much appreciated Johan - super quick response. Andy
