Hi Everybody!
Please take a look at the picture form this link......
http://www.pbase.com/image/1864039
Have any of you experienced the same problem with heat waves off the runway? Is there anything I can do in the future to avoide this problem?
The camera is a Canon D-30 running in the sports mode with a Canon 100-400IS lens, hand held and in immage 2 stabilization mode.
Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

Paul

I think the only thing you can really do about this is shoot in the early morning before the sun starts beating down. I've had the same problems shooting over concrete, asphalt, roads, whatever and nothing I do eliminates the heat distortion.

I've noticed that it is more pronounced shooting from ground level but if you are looking down on the subject it is not as noticeable.
Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks Jan for the link to the past discussion. I guess we just have to live with it.
But some of the recommendations in this post a well as the previous ones will help circumnavigate this problem in the future.
