I was just looking through the latest version of Airliner World and noticed in the article about SQ ,that one of the pics was taken by Andrew Hunt. How much do people usually get paid for these types of shots in magazines?
Thanks,donder10

Mail the magazines and ask what the current rates are, the answer I got was 20$ for some, and 20£ for others. They'll also give info on how they want the photos submitted.

Andy,

It was a head-on 3/4 SIA 777 shot and the credit was 'SIA - Andrew Hunt' so I assume you've sold some shots to SIA for press use in the past?

Yes, I did do some work for SIA in the past. Nice of them to still give me credit. Thanks for letting me know.

Guess I'll replace the red face in the previous post!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I got a cheque for €64 from them for 2 shots of mine they published. They were absolutely nothing special, just news shots. Definitely nowhere near my best work

Wow, it must be nice to get some cash for all the hard work that goes into nice shots... Big grin

As usual there are small errors in their news section like reporting 2 stories twice lol.

Only £20 for a photo in AW? I got £65 for a fairly small photo in Flight International recently! (TMA B707)

Might I ask how you get in touch with Flight International. I have contacted many times and they've just ignored me

Flight International have contacted me when they want something. If they ignored you it could have been because they probably get a lot of emails and these production companies don't have as many staff as one would expect.

I get only a small number of emails but I still have trouble replying to all and trying to rmember to follow up later down the track is almost impossible. I occasionally screen old emails and realize I may have forgotten to do something etc etc.
