Hi all

This photographer has asked for help in identifying the airport at the top of this overhead photo of Munich-Franz-Josef Strauss:

Not exactly my neck of the woods, so can any one of you help?

BTW, on another topic, a change to our corrections scripts has meant a faster processing of corrections sent in by the photograph's owner. At the moment there are zero owner-sourced corrections in the queue  Smile and there should be a normal turnaround of 24 hrs at most for this type of correction in future.

I've just fired up my copy of Proplan (a flight planning program) and the other airfield near Munich FJS, is Erding AFB - 6.7 nm on a true track of 106 deg.

FJS has dual 08-26 runways, and Erding has a single 08-26. Nothing else remotely fits.

that's right. It is indeed the Erding Army airfield.

That's right the airport is called Erding like the famous beer from this region. The code is ETSE. These are the notes from the FS2000 were you'll find the airport too:
