Nikon Slide Scanners With Windows XP

Hi guys

My local photoshop has a Nikon Coolscan III going for £400.

I have windows XP and i was wondering if the scanner software will be compatible with it

Though not officially, Nikon Scan software does work in WinXP after upgrading the ASPI drivers (www.adaptec.com).

It was the same solution with my Canon FS2710. There is no device driver for the scanner but you don't need one, just the ASPI layer from Adaptec. Software works once this has been installed.

I have been facing the same problem with my Nikon Coolscan IV ED since I installed XP and I was to re-format my hard disk to put W98 back.

I'm going to try to update the ASPI drivers right now!
