Here's the latest "library of lies" http://community.webshots.com/album/2915124fMfwSkdiHB.

Most have been cropped, but a few identified as myself, Doug Bull, and Aric Thalman. Take a look guys, some pics look VERY familiar!

Thanks to Dazed767 for his keen eye!

It's the user 'USAF86' who has stolen our photos - not Webshots.com - This guy has some stuff from Comairs site as well.

I will look for a link to e-mail him.

Well duh, we all know that Webshots didn't steal the pics, it is the responsibility of the "owner" of that album, in this case USAF86. I have already sent my removal e-mail to Webshots, and they are more effective at this than dealing with the "webmaster" himself...

AirNikon,
I respectfully disagree...It IS Webmasters responsibility....They screen and filter out obscene (yes, more important and serious stuff than our pics, I agree) but....this is NOT fair, NOT legal, and NOT ethical!
AND STEALING!

Mark, maybe we are confused on who is the webmaster, and what is his/hers roll. Is it the site domain or the album "owner"? There are plenty of pics that have been grabbed from company websites, such as Boeing, Lockheed, etc. I don't care about those, as they are freely posted.

I doubt that these companies could care less. However, when individuals grab PERSONAL shots (like yours and mine maybe), AND choose to include the Airliners.net framing, that's where the problem is.

This joke is supposed to be a "photo album" which thus indicates to me, "photos I have shot". Well. they aren't. You and I both know that.

In the past they have deleted these pages, and hopefully they will continue to in the future...

Although none of my pics were used this time, I might suggest signing his guestbook with something like this

"This individulal has STOLEN my work"
"Photos #xxxxxx are my property and were used without my permission"

You know, something along those lines. If he (or she) has an ego(and who does not in thie field!) he will check his guestbook and may just get the messege. But probably the best way to teach this person a lesson is to send an onslaught of nasty e-mails.That is if you can get a hold of his e-mail address.

Good luck,

Thomas

Hi Mark,

I must agree,
Webshots has (and still is) trying to hide behind the argument that they are innocent victims.

As a responsible and well respected business on the internet I too have objected to their blatant abuse of my photographs and
well as many other photos taken by the good people of airliners.net. I currently have legal action pending against them for
such similar abuses and will gladly offer support to any other photographer who has been abused by Webshots.

What is the status of that Lawrence? I would be curious to see if they blow it off, or actually take you on in court...because you would have a good case against them...

This is the risk we take when we post our shots online.
ofoto.com and excite.com are equally to blame. Excite posts we can write to the following address to complain:

Morning all,

Just to give you all an update.

I'm giving Webshots one more chance to pay the invoice I have sent them before I take any furher legal action against them. I don't have a lof of hope for a happy outcome.

Sometimes I just feel happy that my photographs are not entirely posted on airliners.net
Part is the concern is others taking advantage of you like what specifically happened to airnikon Lawrence Feir and the rest of the others.
I feel sorry to hear that the photos belonging to you folks were taken off to a downloadable database site
by a mindless being. Not to mention, without consulting authorization from the proper owners.. I hope what you guys have done to respond to this incident will settle this fiasco very soon..I was saving up to buy a good slide scanner to scan and post my pictures to this site as I was only a few short on cash but now, Im gettin doubts of what risks these are and what consiquences I will suffer if such like this occurs to me.
But we'll see.. I think that webshots will comply and this will be settled properly..
Good Luck you guys..

And PS,, Those links that airnikon and dazed gave is not working ...For some reason

Best Regards,
