Okay.... here is the problem. Olympus 720 or 700?

The 720 has more megapixels but a smaller zoom then the 700

The 700 has less megapixels but a larger zoom then the 720.

What to do what to do!
Help!

What do you want the most, zoom or pixels?

Basically the more pixels will only relly matter if you plan to print them out in a larger size, it will make very little difference on screen. Then again, how often will you use that extra zoom?

I had the C-700 and it produces good quality images, my acceptance rate on here shot up overnight from slide / film scanner processing. If you want to print them off at more than 7" x 5" you'll need a 3m pixel though.

For some reason I thought the C-700 was discontinued, you might want to check that out.

I would go with the 720, as the image will look better with more megapixels and the technology in that cam is probably upgraded from what's found in the 700.

Most people will agree that 8x (320mm) is quite enough for aviation photoraphy.

Another thing to note is the price. Can you find the prices for these?

Also, more megapixels means more data, so you can crop away more parts of the picture that you don't want so it's kinda like zooming

I'm using a 2MP camera atmo and there is no margin for error. Do yourself a favour and get the 3MP camera with the 8x zoom.

Steve.

3MP might give you a bit better quality, I would go for that.
