Hi Guys,

Just out of interest, went into Smiths this morning and picked up a copy of Practical Photography. I was wondering which magazines you guys read and would recommend to me as a semi-experienced photographer.

Thanks in advance

Unless you're in the market for equipment, I don't rate the mainstream UK mags very highly - they tend to be a tad superficial when it comes to technique, and far too equipment (ie. advertiser) oriented.

Some European and US ones seem to be more focused ( Smile) on composition, lighting etc. but they're hard to find and expensive in the UK.

I prefer to get hold of books by (or about) photographers I like, and try and learn from their pictures ... WHY are these great shots?

I subscribe to 'Australian Photography' which is a fantastic publication and not too over the top with advertising etc.. 'Australian Camera' is great for reviews on new gear.

I found a UK photography mag on an aircraft recently and took it home for a read. I can see what Colin means about it being far too equipment and advertiser based but I liked it  Smile
