Hi All,

Next Thursday (29-08-02), I'm flying to MAN for a business meeting the next day. My Swiss flight arrives at about 1500 hours and I would have then until sunset to grab a few photos.

Could some of you kind locals recommend where I should go with such a limited time to get the best sun angles??? I have seen Chris Sheldon's site and I think he mentions T3 carpark. Is that right??

Thanks in advance.

Andrew

'Sun angles'........remember you are flying into the UK during the height of the Summer season  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

If you can, bring the Sun with you.

Seriously, hope you do get it.

Regards

Gary

Yeah, you can walk to the terminal 3 car park, its not that far away and the sun should be behind your back, you get an OK view of arrivals on 24R. Its probably your best bet.

Regards

Dan (unless you can get transport).

If you get the transport, I'd probably say....

Well, if its cloudy you might as well go round to the far side of the airfield. I don't know how to get there but there is a spot on the far side of 24L right next to the point of rotation for most heavies, which would be a good idea, but where it is I do not know  Confused.

Otherwise, if its sunny i'd say probably, either the aviation viewing park (there are signs as you come out of the airport, otherwise easiest way to find it is keep turning left  Big grin  Big grin), or if you are feeling like a community bloke, go to the pub which is under the approach path for 24R (although, when I went there I didn't like it because there were alot of people there, and not alot of them seemed 'nice', and there were loads of kids and loud music etc).

Its your choice!! I'd say that you can't be very creative (at least not Andrew Hunt creative Big grin) from all 3 spots, as the best places are on the other side of the airfield, however you might have some luck at the aviation viewing park (with transport) or Terminal 3 car park (without transport).

Regards

Dan

As DAN says the AVP is best as you will be able to get arrivers and departers. T3 MSCP will only be good for 24R landings ( MAN will be in 2 runways ops when you land ) and if we are on 06 you won't get diddley squat from T3 MSCP. If you send me an e-mail to my address in the user profile I'll give you my work number and I'll try and help you on the day and let you know what's due.
