I request pics of the equipement you use for spotting,i.e.cameras and films.

It would be kind if you list some photos of your own and the equipement and technics you have used to make it successful !!!

Some advices about scanning would be appreciated too !!!

Thank you for help !!!

Vasco G,

Nice equipment you got there! I have a Nikon N60 myself though I don't shoot aviation photos (no good access to airports in my area). Would love to get the D100 when I have the cash!

Hey,

In February I've got for myself Nikon N70 which I relly love with Tamron lens 75-300mm and Sigma 28-80mm. As a backup I'm using Nikon F50 with Sigma 75-210mm. Now I'm trying to save some money for Nikon N90  Big grin

At this very moment, I'm still using an old Canon AE-1:

Lenses: Canon 50mm and a Zykkor 80-200mm.

But, after going through a lot of research, I've finally ordered this piece of equipment three weeks ago (can't wait to get it):

Canon D60:

Sigma HZ Compact 28-200mm:

Canon EF 75-300 mm f/4-5,6 II USM:

I am using a Nikon Coolpix 5000, shown here with a TC-E2 Teleconverter. I just got my TC-E3 Teleconverter (3x) the results have been far better than I expected.

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

I have a Canon EOS RebelX with a Canon 28-80mm lens and a Quantaray 70-300mm lens. I started to use Kodak Supra 100 and I'm lovin the results with it!(I get it at a cheap price when I buy it in bulk from Central Camera in Chi-Town's downtown) Sorry I don't have no plane pictures here they're on Airpics. Just type in my name in the search box and there you go. Someday I will either get a slide/negative scanner or start going to digital but I like the print better and I'm sticking to it! Don't have any pictures of my equipment cause I couldn't find a picture of a RebelX camera but this is fine.

Have nice and happy spotting days!

I use a Nikon F5 for my camera body.

For lenses I have: 80-200F2.8, 28-80f2.8, and a 70-300f 4/5.6 (do not really recommend this lense).

Vasco, can I ask. How much is that 400 f2.8 rin now-a-days? That 80-400 with VR?

D,

depends where you buy it, between 8000 and 10000 USD.
That 80-400 VR? Was that a question for me? I only have the 80-200 f2.8.

Well as far as I understand you have one of those 400mm 2.8? Or am I wrong?

That price is simply outrageous! It will be a while before I can afford that piece of art equipment!

Do you know if any a.net guys shoot with that lense?

D,

Yes I do own a Nikon 400mm f2.8.

The only other guy I know who owns and shoots with that monster lens is
Thomas Millard (it is a Canon 400f2.8 though)
