Hello all..
I was just wondering what Photo editing tool you men and women or boys and girls use out there to turn your raw photos into gold or near-gold perfection??

And secondly, in your specific program, (PSP6 etc.)

What commands do you mostly or always use to prove your perfection?

I personally use Adobe Photoshop 6.0
And the commands I use are:: The Color Balance, Brightness/Contrast in the Image Adustment area.
And for a finale, I give it a dose of JUST Sharpen..
sometimes maybe SHARPEN EDGES..
then I save it as Jpeg and send it off..
oh ya .. I start off with 1200DPI and reduce my res to 1024 by whatever.. anyhting else I should mention or should of done for betterness??

Lets share some Opinions and Recommendations..
Whats your answer fellow photographers??

I have Photoshop 6 myself, and I haven't noticed any great improvements over v5.5. Take a look at Paint Shop Pro 7, it is new and improved and I think you will like it.

AirNikon,--- I do agree that PS 6 isnt as much.
But I have't really tried out Pain Shop yet.I used 5 and didnt find it interesting..
But What kind of neat stuff are introduced in 7?
Maybe I'll jack if from a friend and give it a try..

Bo Kim.

The biggest advantage PSP has always had over PS is the browser feature. You can display a ton of thumbnails and delete them at will. PSP7 also adds more correcting features that has been their downfall in the past.

Hi There

I use Paint Shop Pro 7 myself, my usual technique is scan at 1200dpi, resize to 1024 by whatever, Unsharpen mask using settings 1,100,10 and then sharpen once.

BO__eing,

You can download a full registered version of PSP 7 from http://fosi.ural.net/

I use Adobe PhotoDeluxe. Do you sharpen before or after resizing down to 1024px?

I see.. Different opinions but the same old common things we all do with them.,.Intersting to read all this.

lol Photodeluxe Luis.. Thats quite funny. I tried using Photodeluxe and I just don't neccessary like it as its too simple.. Unles you have the version where You can change it to advanced mode.. But still.
I'd go for sharpening after you reduce res to proper size.. Takes shorter time..

I like simple things Bo

But you're right, I became accommodated with PhotoDeluxe because it's working fine and I get a small number of rejections. I'm just trying to reduce some grain that I find irritating and now I'm using PhotoDeluxe to add contrast and Paint Shop Pro to sharpen.

I just got Adobe Photoshop 6 for Christmas, I have been taking classes this past semester at the local junior college learning how to use Photoshop 5.5. I'll just try to learn 6 by myself, but you can do a lot with Photoshop other than just working with pictures. It's great fun!
