I am going to BWI soon and I was wondering how the spotting is. I heard something about a park built by the airport. Can anyone explain this and any other places to spot?

Any help is great!

Hello
Yes,there is a park right at the end of 33L on Dorsey Rd.If the winds are from the Northish then they land on that side and it's excellent for spotting and photographing. If the winds are from the Southish then they take off on that side and it's not as good IMO.Here are a few examples of them landing.

Parking lot at the end of 33L is pretty much the only "legal" spot to takie pictues from outside the airport. You can also try gas station if the are landing on runway 15L/15R. You will get good photo opportunity for runway 15L which is only used by commuter aircraft and GA stuff.

As far as I'm concerned anywhere that is not private or airport property is legal for photography.I have also heard from others that you can go to the top of the daily parking garage without too much trouble from security and they do have an observation deck but I'm not real familiar with it as I have never been there. If the winds are from the Northish then your best bet is the park.
