Take a look. This picture seems impossible. Look at the lighting effects and the distance at which the shot was taken. This looks like it was created by a studio. Is this picture REAL???

It's a composite - 2 giveaways
1 the edges between frame and view are too clean and sharp
2 the grain structure of the external and internal views doesn't even closely match.

Cheers.

Yup. Colin's right.

This image has been beaten to death in PS. Look at the edges of the "left leg" of the FO's chair. See how the edge of the sheepskin has a blue halo? That's from creating a sloppy path around the border of the sheepskin contours and overadjustment in either the brightness/contrast or levels. Also, the "blacks" don't match up at all. They are trying to even out the exposure throughout the entire image.

In fairness to the digital production artist, they are probably not trying to fool anyone. It's obviously a PR shot intended to show every facet of the cockpit.

I tend to like the Boeing's similar shots simulating a line up at BFI with Mt. Rainier in the background.

Thats the Boeing stock photo of the 717. They have posters of it, infact...we've got one in the living room.

Yes the actual cockpit itself isn't real, at least the panel etc isn't. Especially consider that the runway is very grainy, and the cockpit is really really smooth and clean.

btw. Why are you so damn obsessed with Air Tran? Do you do anything that isn't Air Tran, do you like anything in aviation besides Air Tran and the 717?  Angry

Dan, there are fans of just about every plane out there, including the 717.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
