Hi all!
Since we had some troubles with pictures during screening one of us found this link:
http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=003j8d
I think this is exactly what causes the problems, so please read it and be so kind to follow the workaround described there.

The workaround being...

"...not to upload JPEG images created in PS7 unless they have been saved using the "Save for Web..." feature"

Hmmm, Thanks for the heads up Peter.

I wonder if this might be causing my upload problems as well?

Having said that, the problem only occurs when I use my broadband connection to Airliners.net and nowhere else. The same image uploaded using the modem works fine.

Incidentally, anyone know who at airliners.net might be able to offer me some tech support with this problem?

Cheers

Another workaround being;
or to set Preferences to disable the saving of "preview" data in output files

There is an update to Adobe Photoshop 7.0 to 7.0.1.
It solves some issues, hopefully this one.

It's available for the English version.

Anybody tried it yet ?

Hi all

I have downloaded the update and will install this evening.

Not sure if it would affect me but I save my files as PSD and process in another package and save as JPG from there.

save for web offers you a quality slider, simply save at 100 for maximum quality.

Hi all

Rez, I currently use Photoshop 7, Corel Photopaint 10 and dabble a little in PSP 7.

Process all images in PS7 and then flit between the others to get things right. I find that sharpening is better in other programs.

Oh, and I downloaded the update for PS7 but it could not load. Not sure what the problem is. To be honest, if it ain't broke, don't fix it  Smile

Cheers

I think the 7.01 update fixes it because all the photos that I submitted (of course I got the usual collection of rejections, but a couple made their way though) were saved normally with PS7.01.

uhhhh, my dad moaned at me about this... that his default picture browser wouldn't open the files. How annoying!

How does this effect screening? When I use PS7 I usually 'save as' but no worries if I remember from now on i'll use 'save for web'.

Dan

If you have a pirated copy of PS7 or one that has had its CD Key all over the net, the install won't run.

If you have a problem and you are the true owner contact Adobe for help, if you don't wish to contact Adobe for help, give me an e-mail and I can tell you other ways to fix it.

By turning off the "preview" and not saving preview with the jpeg, does that mean it wont show me thumbnails when I browse on my windows explorer, or from the browse window within photoshop, or by using any photo-browser like ACDsee?
