Hello Guys, im planning on booking a flight down to Palma, Majorca for next May, June or July ... Im just wondering what it's like there for photo opertunity's, also it's understandibly a HUGE airport ... are the good spots easily accesible with public transport or possibly on foot if not too far?

AN 124 at PMI.....hmmmm I don't know if that can be right.
PMI is mostly known for it's European charters during the summer season.
I was just down there in Oct for a week, hang out at the airport just one day.
Most of the time traffic will land Rwy 24L, whereas the departing traffic will use the parallel Rwy 24R. (drive towards the city of Saint Jordi)
24L has 2 spots, right behind the Rwy and one probably in the middle, good for touchdown shots.
Unless you like to walk, I would recommend renting a car. Cost you around USD 30 per day.
This is pretty much what I remember, contact Toni Marimon. PMI is definitely his neck of the woods. Never met him, but he is a nice guy!

Great place, but as others have said you need to rent a car if you are to do the job properly. Some spots are OK by foot, but when I was there (for three days) there was a lot of runway changing, three times a day, which would mean a lot of walking. Also, by 16.00 you need to be on the other side of the field for your shots anyway.
I don't think An-124's are that regular there, but they'll be plenty to keep you occupied.
My visit was in 1998 so don't know what the photo opportunities are like at the moment (or will be next summer!)

I wouldn't bank on being able to get taxi's to and from the photo spots. Both the morning and afternoon spots are a bit off the beaten track.
I was able to get a taxi from the airport to the morning spot when I was there back in May 2000 but the driver was seriously pissed at having to drop me off no more than a few miles into what I'm sure he hoped would be a big fare having waited in the rank at the airport for ages!
Even if you are able to get a taxi to one of the spots there is little chance (I'd say none realistically) of getting one from one of the spots back to either the airport or your digs. Believe me (and others) - you really do need a car...or at least a scooter or bicycle.
Thinking about it...there may be a chance of a bus to/from somewhere close to the morning spot as this is only a few hundred yards from a main road. No such luck in the afternoon though.
This page at Toni Marimons excellent PMI site has a map - spot 3 on the map is the morning spot, spot 1 the afternoon spot. The roads (shown in red) between spots 4 and 5 to the west of the airport are pretty much all motorway and very difficult to get around on foot in this area.
