Hi All,
This coming weekend I'll be going to ATL for spotting. It will be my first time spotting from the perimeter roads and not from the terminal. I would like to get as many tips on spotting locations as you can give me.
I'll be there Saturday from around 6am till 4pm.
Main goal of this trip is to get few DL MD-11s.
Which runways are mostly used by widebodies, which are used by CRJs and commuters. Anything will really help. What about SAA, do they come to or leave ATL on Saturdays? How is security around ATL airport?
Of course if you can meet me and another fellow photographer that would be nice.

The euro arrivals will come in on the north side, most likely on 26L. Then later in the afternoon they will depart off of 27R for the most part. But you will have the MD-11s from MCO that will come in on 27R as well.
SAA come in daily at around 8:30AM and departs around 10:30. I say around because it seems to leave late a lot.
You'll also have a chance at the Korean 777, it comes in around 12 and leaves around 2.
I'll be working Friday - Tuesday on Concourse C from 3 to 11:30pm

Try the Raddison Hotel.

Thanks guys for your help.
I've checked the weather for Saturday and it says "Mostly Sunny" with winds from West, Northwest. Which runways will be in use for landings and where is good place to take pictures for landing shots?

Well, I'm not planning to spend the night at ATL. I will just drive from DC to ATL Friday night. Then I'm planing to spott on Saturday from sunrise to sunset and drive to GSP.
Flyer732, is there any particular place to park the car and take pictures for arrivals on 26/27?
