Seeing the thread by alphazulu and rotating pics I thought I would show an easy way of determining and correcting slanting pics almost automaticly with PhotoShop 7.

Choose the measure tool.

Choose a line that should be vertical. Click and drag along it.

Do this

and PS will tell you exactly how much and in what direction to rotate.
Just click ok.

Now just crop a little. Done!

Simply brilliant!

Thanks Jan! And to just think, I used to do this all by trial and error with decimal increments...

Sorry, small minds are easily amused, and I am clearly very amused right now...

I appreciate it too, I had a few rejections for photo not being level. Thank you!

If I still didn't know about the method, I wouldn't have 11 pics in High quality queue right now. Thanks again!

Jan,
Great technique. This should help a lot as long as buildings are accepted for the vertical reference, but I do not believe this is the case. My impression from reading many A.net topics on "not-level" photos is that the accepted screening criteria for establishing vertical is the horizon, not buildings. I believe there is a rejection message that states this.

For my own curiosity, I would like some feedback from the screeners to see if there is broad agreement that your technique will result in an acceptable photo. Otherwise, are we still to use the horizon to establish true vertical? In many cases I do not see how the latter is possible.

Great technique, Jan!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy  Wow! Thank you very much!

However, this is still doesn't solve the problem with a sloping runway when you don't have any point of reference! Big grin

I think it has been established that verticals are to be vertical and the horizon can be a bit off since it often is in real life. Verticals are "always" vertical.

If no point of reference, you're on your own..  Wink/being sarcastic

Thanks for the tip Jan, unfortunetly I got PSP 7 only. But as Peter said it works the same way in PSP so I´ll try it one day in case I need it.

Also I´m posting this msg cause it is really impressing for me to see that you got 3 HD with 80 GB each one! And if I´m not mistaken... that´s a total of 240GB! A Jumbo 747-4ER! That´s a lot for me! Well, also I´m comparing it to my Cessna180 with a sole HD and a 40 GB capacity  Smile
