WHen you scan a picture into a.net, what DPI do you use? I try to use 1200 DPI but it is not good enough. I am interested in what you guys use. Thanks.

The problem I encounter when using over 2400 DPI is the file size of the picture. At 3200DPI the file size is about 750MB for me. Is this unusual?

I guess that you are using a flatbed scanner and you are scanning prints. With 3200dpi the scanner will output 3200pixels for every inch of the print and this will not make the scan better. The print by itself has almost a resolution of 300dpi so anything above that is almost useless. Try scanning at 450-600dpi maximum and then downsize the photograph using Photoshop or any other photo editing software.
