When using a certain scanner I could perfectly use the PS 7 Clone tool on the imported image . Now I've changed scanners and the clone tool does'nt seem to work - it just leaves white spots no matter what I do - only the Healing brush tool works now. Whats up with this? The healing brush works fine, but I would also like to have the clone tool working correctly.
thanks

Check which layer your imported image is on. It is quite possible that you have one layer selected, but visually are looking at a different layer.

Merge down the image so you have no layers (only the background will be left) and then try both tools. Either that, or make sure you have the correct layer selected before trying to heal the image.

I found the problem: I switched from 'lighten' mode to 'normal' and all is back to normal.
Thanks Steve for the input, I will keep that in mind once I start using multiple layers.

Carlos,

I just bought an "excellent" PS 7 book for photographers.
It is called "Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for Photographers". Pretty original title, huh?

It's author is Martin Evening........

Great book and I'm reading it right now.

Just checked out the book at Amazon - If you recommend it I'll get it, since I've plenty to learn from PS.
