With weather improving this week, and forecasts looking good for the weekend, maybe it's a good idea to get together with all the AMS photographers this weekend (and maybe non AMS photographers).....We talked about doing this again a while ago, and this weekend might be a good time.....If enough people can make it that is.

Hi,
Damn, I'd really love to be there. It's been awhile since I went to AMS / EHAM), Netherlands">AMS. Unfortunately, I already have to go to an annual meeting

Your are right Tim, the weather is really improving (as yesterday), so I also think it's time for a part X of this success.
My son was 1 year old last month so it's about time for him to start some serious go-to-airport-with-dad kind of thing.

Id love to, but I will be gone on Saturday (perhaps picking up the DAMN D60) And only a small chance I will be there on Sunday. But if I have the camera I will want to be at Schiphol as soon as possible, so who knows...

I'm game for saturday or sunday if the weather is decent.
Don't care much which, all the time in the world now that the company is dead and me out of a job (does mean I've little money to spend of course).
Weather today at AMS is pretty poor though. Foggy all day.

Well Tim... I am not even near Schiphol on saturday... wether or not i am going to pick up the D60, I will be in Epe (veluwe) and most probably spend the night there.
But if I get the camera on Saturday, I will get back to Epe and I will be going to some bars on saturday-evening and come to Amstelveen during the night.
And IF I am here with the D(amn)60 and in Amstelveenon Sunday, than I allready arranged with people to go to Artis to do some shooting there...

I will be @ AMS next saturday in the afternoon.....don't know the exact time because I have to do some shopping in Amsterdam first Afterwards I will go to Schiphol. If the weather conditions will be OK, I'm gonna take some pics at spottersite 06-24........

Yesterday and today saw great weather, and indeed that first flight. I was unfortunately stuck at the University
I'm not sure about the weather for saturday, but sunday is supposed to be decent. I'll be at 06/24 either saturday or sunday, and I'll drop by the spottersplace (or actually a bit to the right of it where the road turns), to see if anyone's there. You can all recognize me by my white lens I prefer shooting 06 approach shots, and always do that on a smal road leading to the runway lighting, if you see someone standing in a field while you drive on the Kruisweg, that's me!

Weather sucks at AMS? Too bad. Weather is still pretty good over here at BRU. We had low clouds at 10AM CET, but they have made room for the sun. too bad I have that meeting at 2PM

Was over at AMS from about 10AM to 2PM. Low clouds, icy cold wind.
Not a lot to see either, nothing really interesting (except an Air Finland aircraft parked at the KLM painthangar, too far away to get a shot at it).

Argggg....I'm going to AMS and FRA in April, for photos of planes and flowers. Had a great time at AMS last year.
From anyone's experience, when the Panorama deck is closed, are the spotters parks closed, too? Hopefully not....I'd like to see more than just tulips.

No, the areas outside the perimeter are not closed down, but they are kept under closer surveillance.
Last saturday there was a driveby by some airport or law enforcement vehicle about once every 30 minutes instead of once every 2 hours normal.
Most don't stop, and noone was turned away.
These people know what we're doing (and many do it themselves during lunchbreaks when the weather is better) and will leave spotters alone unless they're doing something illegal like climbing over fences.

Saturday was not much,
and Sunday I spent in Almere.
By the way, is there any good spots for the new rwy?
Aim for the sky.
Sudden
When in doubt, flat out!
25 Jwenting: what did you do in Almere? We could have met up, I live there Haven't found any really good spots, unless it is the one gate you can shoot through or
26 Wietse: Uhmm... alongside the entire 18R end of the runway there is a "fietspad" which is pretty close. So I would say there are some neat spots. And the taxi
27 AMSMAN: So when you guys planning to go again? Il have to get me lazy a** down there.
28 KL713: one of the upcoming weekends, except for the 8th of march (Idols big final ), when i'm 100% sure about a specific date I will post it here.....
