Rejected for badinfo, saying the reg is visible.. now that must be the small section on the nose. Here is a closeup:

So what is the reg then?

Yes wietse, it is,

American carriers start with N, end mostly with two letter referring to the company

Like with Fedex it's N---FE etc...

In your picture, and any other United bird, N---UA

iow, how to decode the reg from the fleet#.
Answer is depends on airline and type and unless you know the algorithm you can't...
Obviously the screener knows the algorithm and thinks everyone else should too.

Wietse,

To figure out the reg. you can either buy a fleetbook or check some websites. Although it's not updated anymore, I often use Bill Harm's website to check that info. This site also gives del. dates and c/n.

Cheers,

Miguel

(See ya at AMS tomorrow??)

Take care Miguel, police may tell you to leave (especially if it's busy). They don't want the field to become an extension of the official spotterplace...

I'll be there tomorrow in the field in the approach as well, not the one parallel to the runwat but the one where the planes are still in the air. Come and visit me I would say Smile
Spent some hours at the ramp today, saw the Transavia 757-300, but clouds were just coming in .....aaarghhhh....

Yes, and if the gate might be closed, just go around it. The owner of the road has no problem with us standing there anyway, especially on our bikes Big grin
I need some new actionshots of some new subjects, cause my stock is dwindling somewhat Smile

I'll probably be there around 9.15.

Jeroen,

I only got a visit of the MP two times. The first time they only wanted to check my bags and as soon they found out I did not have any grenades or rocket launchers with me, it was no problem and I was allowed to stay.  Smile
The second time was a different story. The checked my license plate for about 3 times and told me to get lost...

I got these visits when I was alone there. Last time with Wietse (and 20 other people around us) we had no visits of MP.

Now with the war in Iraq there might be some more patrols but the worst thing they could do is tell you to move on. I'm not afraid of that...
If it happens we will just move on to the approach spot (and return after an hour...  Acting devilish )

Miguel
