Hi guys,
I'm a bit irritated at the moment, I get home today to find out that 'oh we've booked into the Thistle Hotel at Heathrow before we leave to Iceland', the principle being that I can take photographs from the hotel.
I quickly asked them why didn't they ask me first, because I never said I wanted to that. You know, my parents make an effort but whats the point if they don't think first. Is it any good for photography? I assume it isn't because i've never heard anything about it but I can always hope .
Plus the fact I was thinking of selling my camera anyway, this just makes me annoyed more than anything else. They lectured me about how much money they'd spent just for me, etc etc.

Thanks Ben, so according to this map, its right at the end of 27R. Thats not very good unless 09L is in use instead for touchdowns, and that is assuming that you can see over to the runway.
Either that or hope there are some aircraft with horrendously long takeoff rolls on 27R.

Hi Paul,
Yes, to be honest I wasn't bothered about LHR in the first place, which is why I was so surprised that he'd booked us into a hotel because we didn't need one in the first place as the flight is in the afternoon. I hope the holiday is going to be excellent and I can't wait!
