Hello!!

I finally got the slide scanner, due to my limited budget i got what i think is a good product considering its price, jus 119 euros (for my american friends about $100). I purchased the HP 3570C, it has a built-in slides/negatives adapter.

However, i have noticed that if you want to scan using high resolution like 2400dpi or more (i believe that this scanner has a maximum resolution of 1200 dpi, but you can select up to 9600 dpi, don´t know why really), my ram memory (192 MB) is not enough; so currently i am scanning at 1600 dpi.

The results i am getting are fine, altough i believe they are below airliners.net standards, that is why any recommendation you could give me would be very welcome, about using this scanner (resolution you would use,...) and Photoshop as well. The scanned pictures i get have a size of 280 Kb- 550 Kb, is that normal? which sizes do you get?

Again thank you, and have a very nice weekend!

Make sure your output files are in TIFF format.. You are probably getting compressed files.. Size should be around 15-20 Mbs.. A 2900 dpi scan on my old Coolscan IV was about 35 mbs.
